Things to Do

 
The Concord Pavilion is one of California's premier outdoor music venues, with a significant seating capacity of 12,500. The pavilion is regularly used for concerts, events, festivals, and graduation ceremonies. Designed by architect Peter Walker in the 1990s, the Concord Pavilion has since hosted some of the biggest music events in the region.
 
During the hot summer months, families love visiting Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, a water park with more than 20 different water rides. Thrill-seekers will find plenty of daunting water slides and attractions to tackle. Still, there are also relaxing lazy rivers and wave pools for anyone who wants to lounge on an intertube and leave the bigger rides to the adrenaline junkies.
 
The Veranda is Concord's largest and best destination with upscale supermarkets, popular retail chains, a cinema, and casual dining for all of your shopping, dining, and lifestyle needs. The Veranda regularly hosts fun events and opens an ice-skating rink each year for those who want to get into the seasonal spirit.
 
At 3,849 feet high, Mt. Diablo brings hikers, bikers, and campers from all over to visit this sprawling 20,000-acre state park. The diverse terrain is unique and engaging for people of all skill types, with more than 400 different species of plants and animals living in the park.

Concord is served by the Mount Diablo Unified School District and there are several acclaimed academies in Concord that are part of the Clayton Valley Charter High School.
